Markthalle Neun

Opened in 1891, this is one of Berlin’s most historic markets. It’s an ideal place for foodies as most of the food items are regionally sourced and are super affordable. Enjoy a variety of culinary delicacies on ‘Street Food Thursday’, savour some traditional German breakfast at the ‘Breakfast Market’, or go on a sweet treat at the ‘Naschmarkt’.

Viktoriapark

If you want to enjoy spectacular views of the city, head to Kreuzberg’s Viktoriapark. The green oasis is the highest elevation in the city and The Park is home to an idyllic pond, a beautiful waterfall, a beer garden, and on top of the hill the Prussian Monument for the Liberation Wars.

Hackesche Höfe

Wander along these interlinked yards and admire the decorative arts, enjoy a cuppa at one the many cafes, or go shopping in the boutiques dotting the area. Later visit the Chameleon Variety Theatre and catch an evening show.

Halensee

Berlin is dotted with over 70 lakes, the most stunning is the Halensee that offers clear waters and nice views of the city. While here, take a blanket and lie on the small beach or spend time at the Stadtbad Halensee that offers a sunbathing area along the water side.

Kunstquartier Bethanien

Once upon a time Kunstquartier Bethanien was a hospital, today its home to several galleries and alternative art studios. If you’re visiting between the months of May and September then catch a movie at the open-air cinema in Kunstquartier’s courtyard. They screen a variety of movies — from old classics to new Hollywood releases.

Mauerpark

Mauerpark is home to one of the most popular flea markets in Berlin. The market runs along the famed Berlin wall and hosts a variety of stalls where you can shop for locally designed clothes, retro brands, vintage vinyl and other knick-knacks.

Oberbaumbrucke

The bridge is a symbol of Berlin’s unity. Besides connecting the Eastern and Western parts of the city, the bridge offers a great view of East Berlin and its popular attractions. The place is known for its nightlife and you’ll find Berlin’s most famous nightclubs close by — Berghain and Watergate.

Spree Ufer

Take a relaxing stroll along the river while enjoying some of Berlin’s most famous sights. From paying a visit to Berlin’s President at the Schloss Bellevue to making a stopover at one of the city beaches to exploring the famous Museum Island and finally visiting the Berlin Cathedral. Make sure you take plenty of amazing photos along the way.

Spandauer Zitadelle

Built in the end of the 12-century, the Spandauer Zitadelle is a well-preserved fortress. Today, it serves as a museum, venue for various outdoor events, and bat tours.

Spreepark

If you love exploring the weird and wonderful things then head to Spreepark. Once an amusement park, it officially remains closed to the public. However, you can still explore this ruin on your own and get an insight of Berlin’s history in a surreal way.
